A small Unity review for a deep insight

Hi everyone, today i am going to talk a little bit about Unity, that usual game engine that

most of the game developers use to work with. I will talk about it´s main features comparing

the principal pros and cons, so let´s get to it!

Main features

Unity biggest starting point is how beginner-friendly it is. The interface is kind of simple

but organized if you check it well. You have a Scene view for designing levels, an inspector

for tweaking details and a nice option to switch between 2D and 3D modes.

The scripting is completely done in C#, which is kind of manageable as long as you are

patient, It´s also worth mentioning how Unity has an unique Asset Store where you can

find models, scripts and other tools to add into your game. Let`s not forget about the

cross-platform support. The editor can export games for PC, mobile, web, console and VR,

which is always pretty nice.

Pros

-User friendly with beginners but deep enough for experts.

-Huge community with very active forums!

-Multi-plaform: You can export your game to a lot of popular platforms.

-Unity has it`s own cloud to store your games online.

-Real-Time Editing: Handy to test and check if everything else is working accordingly

Cons

-It has some performance issues at times (especially for big projects)

-Bugs and glitches: Some updates generate unnecessary mistakes that can make the

experience poorer.

-Bloated Builds: Even a simple game can end up being a chunky download.

-Slow loading times: This is especially terrible when you are waiting for a script to compile.

Final Thoughts

Unity’s not perfect, but it’s a solid choice for most game dev projects—especially if you’re

learning, prototyping, or working with a small team. The ease of use and community

support alone make it a great starting point. Just don’t expect it to magically solve all your

problems. It’s a tool, not a magic wand

Have your guys ever tried Unity before? Do you hate ir or love it? Drop your thoughts in

the comments—or just rant about it for a while if you have been confused as well while

using it!
